January 25, 1927 ~ July 22, 2015
Sophia A. Mulcahy, 88, of Danvers, died peacefully Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Cape Cod Hospital surrounded by her family, whom she loved and adored. She was the loving wife of the late Charles P. Mulcahy with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.

She began her career at United Shoe in Beverly and later managed the book store at Salem State University. She transitioned to the Holten Richmond Jr. High School and finished her career at Parker Brothers as an accountant.
Sophie resided in Danvers for the past 66 years. She and her husband were avid jazz enthusiasts and enjoyed spending time at their summer residence on Cape Cod (in her words….God’s country). Sophie was quite the socialite with many caring friends throughout New England and Florida.
Surviving her are her beloved children, Janis Clifford and her husband Tim of Danvers, Debbie Mulcahy of San Diego, and Lois Mulcahy of Los Angeles along with her grandchildren, Katie and her husband T.J. Baril of Danvers, and Beth Clifford of South Boston. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Avery and Emerson Baril and by her sister, Evangeline Siakallis of Peabody.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 9AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sophie’s memory to the Masconomet Healthcare Center, 123 High St., Topsfield, MA 01983.
The thing about Sophie that will stay with me always is her beautiful smile and her loving presence. She greeted you like a long lost child whenever she saw you. She always made you fee welcome and loved. It was an honor knowing her. Much love Susan & Dwight
