Neal was one of the “kids” with whom I hung out all the time, and a good one at that. Although I left Danvers many years ago, there is still a part of me there, and news like this hurts to the core. I am deeply sorry to hear of Neal’s passing, and at such a young age. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

May you Rest in peace….. So sorry to see you go so young. God needed you in Heaven to duplicate all the Great work you did here on Earth. Spread your light above for all. Condolences to MaryAnn and family.
I’ve jnown Neal since he was a teenager. He was one of a kind. I worked with him at Lyons Ambulance for 14 years. Never a dull moment! He never let up on the Lyons brothers. He always had a quick tongue but a soft heart. I saw him with patients and he was the ultimate professional. He was an excellent EMT and nurse, he had a big heart and he always knew what to do no matter what the medical issue. I will never forget Neal. I knew his parents well and they were so very proud of all that he accomplished. Too young to be gone. So sad. My condolences to MaryAnn. Rest easy Neal. We’ll take it from here.

I knew Neal as a regular at Jack’s Take-Out on Liberty St. in Danvers where he would hold court most mornings for many years. The guys will certainly miss his many stories and anecdotes. My sincerest condolences to his family.

No words can express how sad I am at your passing…. You were the ONLY person I know that stood your ground in your beliefs , and stood by them hard! Honesty was your middle name, and anyone who was less than honest was exposed to your rath!
You gave your ALL in everything you did: Nurse, Firefighter, EMT, Police Officer, and Dispatcher, never wavering for a moment.
Your humor, your “opinions”, your “eye-rolling”-just a few of the reasons you will forever be in my heart….
Rest peacefully, good and faithful servant of God…..

Neal was a know it all, smaht, a do it all, a succeed it all, a hard worker, and had a heart of gold. His kids molded so wonderfully, caring, loving, smart and wonderful. His wife, a dear sweetheart. I can hear his voice…talking away, telling stories about his jobs, his kids, his wife. I knew if you sat next to him for a drink, it would be a long night. The stories were endless. Every time I saw him, he always pushed me, encouraged me. You gotta get that RN! Neal will never be forgotten. Sending all our love. Love you Citroni’s The Peabody Family
Dear Ruth and family,
Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts to me and my family and accept our sincere condolences for the loss of your brother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Whenever I saw Neal walk through the door at the Elm Club, I couldn’t help but smile. I would love to hear his stories, and he always made me laugh. Neal was never at a loss for a good story! He was such a genuinely caring guy, asking how I was and how my family members were. And I feel like he really cared about my response, like he wasn’t just asking to make conversation or to be polite. We will really miss Neal. He was one of the “good guys”. Mary Ann and family, we are so sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Leah & Todd Moreschi

To the Citroni Family,
I was privileged to work with Neal in Middleton….. on the hill. He was a wonderful and caring man. He would always have something to tell us that made everyone laugh….. and Neal would cheer you up if someone was having a day that wasn’t going so well. His heart was bigger than the world. Neal was the finest at everything he did at his professions and everybody respected him for his outstanding style and genuine compassion. Several times I have bumped into Neal and we had so much to catch up on. Neal was truly a gentleman’s gentleman. He will be truly missed by all that knew him.
Rest in Peace Neal as the angels have now cradled you in their arms and brought you home to Heaven. Thank you for your service to the thousands of residents all over the North Shore….. and further….. and for your concern and kindness to everyone you came in contact with. Your honest humanity with everyone, will never be forgotten. You are, were, and always will be the best.

All my good thoughts and prayers go out to the Citroni family at this very sad time. Neal had many friends in many places. I was fortunate to have been one of them along the way as he traveled through life and am very grateful that he touched mine. Neal and I shared a common bond as fishing buddies, as well as members of the Knights of Columbus and the Polish club. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and was always a pleasure to be with and talk to. Throughout all and every physical issue he encountered he was upbeat and smiling. He will always be in my thoughts and memories.
