Gerald V. Orlando, 84, of Danvers, died Monday morning, July 18, 2016 at Beverly Hospital. He was the loving husband of Eileen E. (Mullen) Orlando. Born in Danvers on October 26, 1931, he was the son of the late Domenico and Addolorata (Cassese) Orlando. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School. He later graduated from Merrimack College. A lifelong Danvers resident, after 45 years of service with the Town of Danvers, he retired as the manager of the Water & Sewer Department. He loved gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he leaves his son, Francis Orlando and his partner Kathleen, his daughters, Eileen and her husband Ewan McNicol, Joan and her husband Thomas Ford, and Nancy and her husband Aaron Scola, seven grandchildren, Dominic Orlando, Jillian Greenberg, Ava & Claire McNicol, and Kaitlyn, T.J., and Julia Ford, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Gino Orlando, and his sister, Marietta Sokol. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-8PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, One Joslin Place Boston, MA 02215, or Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers, MA 01923.
