Doris Claire “Dot” (Campbell) Boltas, 91, died on November 29, 2016. She had resided for the past twelve years at Brooksby Village in Peabody. Her “Brooksby Village family” took exceptional care of her during her final days. She was surrounded by kindness, compassion, and was loved by all who knew her. She was born on Sept. 12, 1925 in Peabody to Joseph and Claire (Hussey) Campbell. The youngest of three children, Dot attended Peabody schools and held a variety of jobs from Sylvania, Almy’s in Salem, and her favorite job as the hostess at the Century House in Peabody. She loved interacting with the many people who came to the restaurant. Dot married her late husband, James Boltas, on August 16, 1947 in Danvers where they started their life together. They eventually moved to Roycroft Road in Peabody and renovated their dream house. It was a true labor of love. Dot especially enjoyed decorating, dancing, and family gatherings. She loved children and had a special place in her heart for animals, having spent her younger days on her parents’ farm in Danvers. Her family and friends will always remember her impeccable fashion sense. Her closet was a work of art! She had a quiet and kind nature. She loved to laugh and was quick to smile. Having her grandchildren around her gave her the most joy. Dot is survived by her daughters, Jeri Markarian and her husband Steve of Peabody and Cindy Pulver and her husband John of Maine, her grandchildren, Julie Markarian and her fiancé Max Svec of Brighton, Jamie Gumm and her husband Ian of Idaho, and Jesse Pulver of Haverhill, her great-grandchildren Cru and Salem Gumm of Idaho, her brother-in-law Mickey Boltas of Danvers, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Mae Spaneas and Phillip Campbell. Nanny, as she was known by her grandchildren, will always be in our hearts and will be dearly missed. Her Funeral Service will be Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beacon Hospice, 100 Cummings Center, Suite 222C, Beverly, MA 01915. www.LyonsFuneral.com.

  2. Jeri and Cindy

Your Mother was a very special lady to me and I loved her so much, She will be missed by all and never forgotten.

  3. Jeri and Cindy,
Your Mom was the best (next to my Mom of course). To me, she was like the Leave it to Beaver mom: always patient, kind, strict but loving, fun, and always made me feel like she was glad to see me and happy I was there. She was so warm and quick to laugh. I think of her often and will never forget her. My sincerest condolences to you and all of your families. Hugs
