Phyllis Dunn

Phyllis (Augusto) Dunn, 85, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Essex Park Rehab. Center in Beverly. She joins her husband and soulmate, Raymond W. Dunn, who passed away just five months ago. The two of them were happily married for 62 years. Born in Peabody on Sept. 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Candido and Cora (Espinola) Augusto. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, where she was a cheerleader and standout basketball player. Phyllis was employed as a bookkeeper at Citizens Bank for many years. She also worked as a teacher’s aide at the Thorpe School in Danvers where she realized her love for teaching and for all the students she taught. Phyllis enjoyed traveling with her husband and the two of them loved watching N.E. sports teams together. She loved to cook for her family and was a wonderful and devoted grandmother. She leaves three children, Scott Dunn and his wife Sandra Kaplan of Peabody, Bruce Dunn and his wife Lorraine of Peabody, and Toni Marie Greener and her husband Brian of North Attleboro, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Augusto and Doris Mendes. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 10AM in the South Congregational Church, Prospect St., Peabody. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
