  5. Daniel left this life filled with deep love for his family and friends, and great appreciation for all those who shared his life along the way.

Thank you to everyone who saw him though both his joyful and difficult times.

From childhood until his final weeks Dan tried to lift people’s spirits with his droll sense of humor and ability to listen seriously with concern and without judging.

Dan would also come up with ideas for enjoyable things for people to do together, from building snow forts, go-carts and indoor tents as a boy, to going down to Cape Cod in recent years, or taking his wife Terri to New York City on the train, or his older brother Phil out for Chinese food in Boston, or having his daughter Tiffany and us get on the carousel at the Willows. Hmm, maybe the dizzying ride was not such a good idea for us adults…

As a kid, Dan was a great fan of swimming and playing in the water, as our mother could have testified from the many times she had to drag him out and get soaking wet herself when it was time to go. He also had fun on the trips to South Carolina as a child to visit relatives, or going over to his Babci’s (grandmother’s) apartment in Salem.

My daughter also remembers that her Uncle Dan liked the Dylan Thomas poem, “Do not Go Gentle into that Good Night.” It spoke to the fight he had in him.

Daniel is a blessing to our families and to the world. I’m grateful that he is my brother.

  6. Having known Dan for many years, he meant a lot to me…..He will always hold a special place in my heart. His positive attitude and love of his family and God was inspiring to not only myself, but others that he met.Thinking of all his family at this time. A special thanks to him for all the taffy from Hobbs!!

  7. I remember Dan sitting in the back pews at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church at Mass. He always had a warm smile and a kind word. My deepest sympathies to Dan’s family.
