Shane Francis Duggan, 29, lost his battle with substance abuse on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 while waiting to be placed in a treatment facility. Shane was born December 24, 1987, to Brian Duggan of Danvers and the late Susan (LeBrun) Duggan. A Danvers resident for most of his life, he was a 2006 graduate of Danvers High School. He graduated from Salem State University with a degree in business and marketing, then received his law degree from the UMass School of Law in Dartmouth. Shane had recently passed the Massachusetts Bar Exam. Shane was extremely intelligent, an avid boxer, and took great pride in his power moves. In addition to his loving father, he is survived by his grandmother, Margaret Duggan, his siblings, Brandon Duggan, Maddie Duggan, who he adored and loved, and his youngest brothers Nicholas and Sean Silva, who were his best video game buddies, their mother, Olivia Silva, his aunt, Elisabeth LeBrun, his cousin Debra-Jean LeBrun, and two dogs, Micky and Oakley. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Francis Duggan and Paul and Madelynne LeBrun, and his aunt Karen LeBrun Namvar. No one is an addict by choice. Support your loved one because no one can overcome this alone. His Memorial Service will be Friday, May 12, 2017 at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-8PM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem.   6. This guy showed me the sport of MMA something that in many eays saved my life. I wish I could have saved his. I’m so sorry to anyone affected by this loss. Shane was a bright kid with demons like everyone else. I would give anything to watch UFC with him this weekend.

  7. I worked with Shane when at Danvers Port Yacht Club during summer breaks. I didn’t know that he had accomplished so much in his young age and now I am so saddened to hear of the passing of such a young life!! RIP Shane…praying for strength to your family!

  10. I am so sorry for your loss. It is a terrible disease that crosses all class lines. Not one person ever grows up hoping to be an addict, destroying their lives and the lives of those that love them the most. I went to law school with him and he was a funny and caring person. My deepest condolences for your family.
