Eugene A. Vizena

Eugene A. Vizena, 83, died Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Joan A. (Dion) Vizena. Born in Danvers on Apr. 17, 1934, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Lavoie) Vizena. A standout athlete at Holten High School, he graduated as class vice-president in 1952. For forty-nine years, Gene was employed by Danvers Electric. He was always proud to say that he worked for the town. A lifelong resident of Danversport and a New England sport fan, he loved fishing, boating, and travelling the U.S. He was a member of the Danvers River Committee. He leaves his children, Barbara Reutter of Florida, Alice Vizena of Mansfield, Catherine Marchant of Danvers, Daniel Vizena of Haverhill, Edward Vizena of Hawaii, Francine Blackwell and her husband Todd of Idaho, and Gene Vizena and his wife Nicole of New Hampshire, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Joseph, Charles, Marie, Dorothy, and Beatrice. He was predeceased by his brother, Frank. At Gene’s request, funeral service are private and a celebration of life will be held in the summer.
