DANVERS- John J. Ferguson, son of George and Catherine (Doyle) Ferguson, and a lifelong Danvers resident, passed away in Kaplan Family Hospice House at the age of 95.
A 1940 graduate of Holton High School, he was captain of the football and baseball teams and President of his sophomore class. He was predeceased by brothers George & Paul, and by his sister Mary, with whom he lived for 50 years. He is survived by his sister Margaret Spanbauer and by seven nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank cherished friends, Nick Cameles and Peggy Shehan McLean for the care and support extended throughout John’s later years, and his nurses at Brightview for the care they provided.

Like an uncle to the Shehan kids-godfather to my brother. Great friend to my mom and dad. We have fond memories of holidays spent with John and Mary in Danvers, Wenham and Leominster. We’ve been lucky to have him in our lives. We will miss you! Jane and Gary Zimmerman
