Robert A. Carlsen

August 2, 1933 ~ February 23, 2018
Robert A. Carlsen, 84, a longtime Danvers resident, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, February 23, 2018. He was the husband of the late Anne (Savoie) Carlsen, with whom he shared fifty years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on August 2, 1933, he was the son of the late Carl and Dorothy (Ashman) Carlsen. He was raised and educated in Danvers and attended Holten High School. As a young man he relocated to San Diego where he finished high school and graduated from San Diego State University.
During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Bob was employed as a buyer with General Electric and later in sales at Texaco until the time of his retirement.
He leaves a daughter, Deborah Bisland, two grandchildren, Davin Bisland and his wife Amber and Danielle Bisland, all of Missouri, a sister, Carol Getchell and her husband Bruce of Danvers, a brother, Paul Carlsen and his wife Sharleen of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Rosamond Brotchie, Virginia Tuttle, and William and Richard Carlsen.
His Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. All other services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 260 Cochituate Rd., #200, Framingham, MA 01701.
