Joseph A. Boudreau, 64, died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Lahey Hospital in Burlington following a sudden illness. He was the loving husband of Marilyn L. (Coates) Boudreau, with whom he shared nearly forty-five years of marriage. Born in Lynn on April 15, 1953, he was the son of Irene (Muise) Boudreau of Peabody and Alfred Boudreau of Lynn. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of the Lynn Trade School. Joe was employed as an electrician at Barbour Stockwell, Inc. of Woburn, where he made many dear friends. He had begun his career at Sylvania and also worked for several years at Gloucester Engineering. A Danvers resident for thirty-five years, he was a communicant of Saint Richard Church. Joe enjoyed bowling, softball, and spending time at the family home in Maine with friends and especially his grandchildren. He and his wife loved to travel, and looked forward each year to their trip to Bonnet Creek in Orlando. In addition to his wife and parents, he leaves his children, Thomas Boudreau and his wife Helena of Salem and Shawna Polles and her husband Deric of Danvers, two grandchildren, Olivia and Ryan, his sister, Ruth Koutsos and her husband George of Danvers, his brother, Alan Boudreau of North Carolina, his mother-in-law, Frances Coates of Danvers, his sister-in-law, Kim Smith, his brothers-in-law, Robert and Kenny Coates, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves many close, life-long friends. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Cheryl Young, and a brother-in-law, Dennis Coates. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 9AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 3-6PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.

  1. My husband and I have many, many wonderful memories of our Joey throughout our 46 years of friendship. Our hearts are filled with sorrow. We are going to miss this wonderful man. We lost a friend we was more than that. A friend that we considered family. May our beloved Joey rest in peace.

  3. How do I say goodbye to a man who came into this family and made us his own. Joey you showed me how a man should love and care for his family. Thank you for giving my sister a lifetime of love and wonderful memories. Through good times and bad you and Mal have been the center of this family. Joey you will be missed.   4. Dear Mal and family, Your loss is immense! When I think of “your Joey”, I picture the twinkle in your eyes and the lily in your voice whenever you mentioned his name! Love like yours is rare, and makes parting even that much harder to bear! Thank God for your strong connection to God and your church; I always loved your open spirituality, and know that it will hold you up through this loss of your wonderful Joey! Thank God for your family, especially those adorable grandchildren with whom you have such fun!

  6. Mal & family, I’m sorry for your loss. I remember, back while we were working at Lynn Hospital, Joe would drop by to see you or pick you up and also came to some of our hospital Christmas parties. He always seemed like a great guy. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  7. Where do I begin. So many wonderful memories but our favorite memory is from our Eastover years. “as soon as my foot hits the sand and a towel and a beer”. fly with the angels Joey. You will be missed !!!!!

  8. How does one say Goodbye to an old friend..God knows it wont come easy!! From driving our cars..drag racing everywhere..younger years..Then getting married to your soulmate Mal..your wonderful kids!! your faboulous traveling life..youre one of a kind!!..I have many many fond memories..youre on that plane to paradise never ending…youre in my heart my friend..youll be missed everyday!!..Til we Meet again..
