Marion June Wilson

Marion J. “June” Wilson died June 4, 2018 following a brief illness surrounded by her family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Malden in 1922 she was the daughter of Arthur A. and Marion G. (Fletcher) Crossman. She resided in Everett and North Andover prior to relocating to Danvers in 1940 where she would marry and raise her family, remaining a Danvers resident until her death. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband John.
In addition to her role as a wife and mother, June always worked. She found employment at the Hathorne Post Office in Danvers, and, in 1957 was appointed Postmaster by President Dwight D. Eisenhower which she considered to be the highlight of her 35 year postal service career.
June was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She doted on them and spoiled them at every opportunity. Grammy was their biggest fan, confidant, taxi driver and babysitter. She shamelessly bragged about their athletic exploits, academic achievements, professional accomplishments, intelligence, and good looks to anyone willing to listen.
June was a hard-working, kind, thoughtful, and generous woman and the absolute rock of her family. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be terribly missed by all.
She is survived by her son Robert and his wife Kathleen, her daughter Jan, grandchildren John Wilson and his partner Stephanie Madonick , Maureen Benvie and her husband Craig, Ryan Flachbart and his wife Jennifer, Allyson Flachbart and her fiancé Jimmy Fennelly, great grandchildren Megan and Matthew Wilson and Ellie June Flachbart, and her nephew David Blair and his wife Jan.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Care Dimensions 75 Sylvan St, Danvers, MA 01923.
A sympathy card was purchased for the family of Marion June Wilson.
