DANVERS- Eleanor Clare Knowlton Berry, peacefully passed away in her home on June 13, 2018, just short of her 95th birthday. She was the wife of the late Warren O. Berry. Born in Jamaica Plain on July 16, 1923, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen (Bagge) Knowlton. She was raised and educated in Wollaston. She received her bachelor’s degree from University of New Hampshire. She and her husband had moved to Danvers, where she raised her family and had been extremely active within her community. Eleanor had been the event coordinator at Glen Magna Farms for 25 years and a member of the Danvers Historical Society. She was also a member and past president of the Danvers Art Association and the PTA of Tapley School. She had been a town meeting member until the age of 80. Eleanor was a member of the Maple Street Congregational Church, and a Sunday school teacher. She was also a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Hunt Aide Association. She is survived by her children and their spouses, James and Susan Berry of New Bedford, Neil and Stephanie Berry of Durham, ME, Karen and Robert Brown of Topsfield, Ann and Michael Dignard of Reading, Thad and Margaret Berry of Reading and Jeffrey and Lisa Berry of Topsfield, her sister, Arlene Favorite of FL, sixteen grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Elizabeth Daggett. Her Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in Maple Street Congregational Church, 90 Maple St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Eleanor’s name to the Danvers Historical Society, Glen Magna, P O Box 381, Danvers, MA 01923 or Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, Spinal Cord Unit, Development Office, 1575 Cambridge St, Cambridge, MA 02138.
