Carleen Eleanor Hoberg

July 19, 1947 ~ July 30, 2018
BEVERLY- Carleen E. Hoberg, 71, passed away on July 30, 2018 in her home.
Born in Danvers on July 19, 1947, she was the daughter of Eleanor (Reinhold) Hoberg of Florida and the late Frank Hoberg. Carleen was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Danvers High School. She was a talented artist, gardener, and interior designer employed with several design and furniture stores in the New England and New York area.
Carleen was a loving and thoughtful woman with a passion for art, nature and the eclectic; Carleen was a “self-taught” artist in many mediums and devoted many of her earlier years to this love. She loved gardening, creating beautiful garden rooms out of nothing and spending time with her family in the forests and rivers of New England.
She is survived by her mother and three sons, Charles and wife Kim (Duhame) McNeil of Berkley, Frank and his wife Penny (Fielding) McNeil of Salisbury and Shawn and his wife Jennifer (Dick) McNeil of Salem. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Chad, Madison, Cassie, Derek and Leah and two great grandsons, Miles and Preston and three sisters, Janet Cantatore of FL, Nancy Voyce of HI and Barbara Lyons of Beverly and several nieces. Her love will be forever cherished and missed.
A celebration of life will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.
My condolences to Carleen’s family for their loss. I knew the Hoberg girls from my days in Danvers and had the pleasure of running into Carleen later in life when she was working in the furniture industry. She was a creative, loving lady that was very kind and thoughtful. She appreciated this world and seemed to enjoy it. She will be missed and will be an asset in the hands of the Lord our God. Rest well Carleen. My sympathies to her sisters and family members. Sincerely, Charlie Blute
