  1. Pauline and Family – we are so sadden to learn of Bob’s passing….. He was a GREAT friend and neighbor. He took care of the lawns in the summer, the snow in the winter and the leaves in the fall….. The furry “kids are going to miss him. The “Hill” won’t be the same

  2. Dear Skeffington Family,

Robert Skeffington was my friend but more important he was a part of my family. I met Robert as a result of a family connection and we had a bond based of those circumstances. We would socialize at family events and he would often visit me in my office at the Georgetown Police Station.

Robert was a true supporter of the policing profession but more important supported my wife RuthAnn and our daughters Devin and Danielle throughout our time together. We enjoyed many parties and family events together but the most reflective time I had with him was his detailed stories and knowledge of Topsfield and his Love of dog and horses. He entertained me for hours and taught me so much about these two topics.

I know he struggled with his health in recent years and he was disappointed that he could no longer do the things he so loved but his stories often reminded me of how much he loved his times of the past.

I will miss him for sure but most important his loss will teach me when you get a chance to meet someone, be sure you treasure the times you have together because you wake up one day and they are gone.

    Good Bye Friend,

    Chief Don Cudmore and Family

  3. My condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Skeffington, I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Skeffington a few years back when he came in for an appointment at the dental office where I work. I was new to the office at the time (‘the new girl”) and he immediately made me feel welcome; including me in conversations. I enjoyed listening to his stories over the years. When I purchased my new Dodge Ram, he was quick to fall in love with it and we shared our passion for trucks. I will miss him so much!! I am grateful to have known him! Another angel has gotten his wings.

  4. This is such a wonderful tribute to my dad Don. He loved having you, Ruthann and the girls in his life. We all know how much his visits to you at the station meant to him, and you always took time out of your day for him. Thank you for such beautiful words. Love, the whole Family!

  5. Our deepest condolences to Skeff’s family and friends. We were saddened by the news of his passing. I met Skeff in 1975 when I went to work for a local excavation contractor.
We bonded right away as we had many like interests. I chose another career path after five years but we stayed in contact through the years. He would visit me often at the Harley -Davidson dealership where I worked for fifteen years and then at a local auto dealership for the last ten years on route 114 in Danvers. Always a big smile,a hefty hand shake and a robust laugh would follow Him through the front door. He always reminded me that the good guys had to stick together because there were only a few of us left. Skeff met my Wife at the bank where she worked in Topsfield and they to became instant friends. That’s just how he was. We will miss him terribly, but his memory will be with us forever. We truly did loose one of the good guys. May he Rest In Peace.
