Thomas S. Blackburn

DANVERS- Thomas S. Blackburn, 94, passed away on February 4, 2019 in Hunt Nursing Home in Danvers. He was the loving husband of the late Alice A. (Williams) Blackburn.
Born in Salem on August 29, 1924, he was the son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Steele) Blackburn. He was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Holten High School. Thomas served our country during WWII with the United States Army. He landed in in Normandy in August 1944 and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was honorably discharged in 1946. He had owned and operated the Danvers Mobile Home Park for fifty years. Thomas especially enjoyed spending time at his camp in Waterboro, Maine.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dana and Dianne Blackburn of Waterboro, Maine and Dale and Gerrie of Boxford, his grandchildren, Thomas Blackburn and his wife, Charity, John Turner and his wife, Ivy and Nicole Faucher and her husband, Paul and four great grandchildren, Troy, Jacob, J.D. and Olivia. He was predeceased by his grandson, Joseph Blackburn.
His Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on Friday, February 8, 2019 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 4-7PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thomas’ name to All Care VNA & Hospice Development Office, 210 Market St., Lynn, MA, 01901.
