Jack B. Mills

PEABODY- Jack B. Mills, 79, passed away in his home, surrounded by his family on April 19, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Lamoly) Mills with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born on July 11, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Jack and Grace (Flaherty) Mills. He was raised and educated in Beverly and graduated from Beverly High School. Jack served our country with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Jack received his bachelor’s degree from Wentworth University. From there he became head inspector of jet engines for General Electric until retiring after 40 years. Jack’s passion was music and sports. He had been lead guitarist in a band for many years. In addition to his wife, Joan, he is survived by his daughter, Christine Mills, of Newport, RI and his sister, Dorothy Donlack of NH. His Funeral Service will be held at 1PM Thursday, April 25, 2019 in All Saints Episcopal Church, 46 Cherry St (at Holten St). Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited.
