Robert B. MacLeod, 87, died Friday evening, December 27, 2019 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the loving companion and partner of Shirley Willett of Peabody. Born in Beverly on February 26, 1932, he was the son of the late James and Veronica (Barry) MacLeod. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1949. Bob served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a carpenter for nearly forty years and worked as a foreman with Carpenters Local #878. A resident of Danvers for twenty-eight years, he had resided in Peabody since 1984. In addition to his beloved Shirley, he leaves a daughter, Dianne Chase and her husband James of Mirror Lake, NH, two grandsons, Robert Chase and David Chase and his wife Natalie, four great grandchildren, Isabel, Gage, Aiden, and Connor, two sisters, Catherine Harrison of Salem and Dorothy Johnson of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Savoie) MacLeod, and his siblings Elizabeth Schankel and James and Donald MacLeod. At Bob’s request, funeral services will be private.
