Fernande P. (Lemieux) Reid, 85, died Friday, May 1, 2020 at the Glen Ridge Nursing Center in Medford following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Alton H. Reid and stepmother of the late Cynthia Reid. Born in Lawrence on May 27, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Victoria (Goulet) Lemieux. She was raised and educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of the former Saint Anne High School. Fern was a longtime Peabody resident, where she raised her loving family. Fern was employed at Analogic for over fifteen years before retiring at the age of 62. She leaves two daughters and their husbands, Susan (Piepiora) and Gerald Bligh of Lawrence and Gail (Piepiora) and Tom Corliss of Peabody, her grandchildren, Tommy & Heather Corliss, Gerald Bligh Jr. & Nicholas Piscitello, Melissa (Bligh) & Eric Damaso, her great-grandson James, her sister Claire DeMarco of Lawrence, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Lucille Doerr, Leona Lane, and Victor, Raymond, and Norman Lemieux. Her funeral services will be held privately with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fern’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452. Arrangements are by C.R.   1. To Susan,Gail, and Auntie Fern’s entire family we are so very sorry for your loss. It was such a shock to see Fern’s smiling face looking back at me in this mornings newspaper.I don’t know if you guys knew this but your mom took care of me quite a bit when I was a kid and I have so many great memories of our time together. In fact the last time I saw her many years ago she gave me a picture of the two of us taken in the garden at Winslow Place.
