Doris A. Congley

North Hampton, NH- Doris Ann (Boudrot) Congley has finally come to rest after enduring a 12+ year battle with cancer. When Doris was diagnosed years ago, many believed she hadn’t much time, but she went the full 12 rounds and persevered long enough to witness the birth of 5 great-great-grandchildren. On June 17th, 2020 on a beautiful day, in her own bed, surrounded by her family and the sounds of children playing when her body soothed and her breathing calmed that she was greeted by Michael, her 30-years deceased son. He told her all the words we’ve said to her, and even the ones we missed. He was proud of her, having seen her be the matriarch of her family for so long despite her failing health and unmeasurable grief. He told her he could feel her pain, discomfort, and wariness. He had seen her look around at her flourishing family and she knew her work was done, she had earned her rest. Michael extended his hand, asking “mom, are you ready to come home?” As soon as she took his hand fever became fervor, her pain became bliss, and fatigue was met with vitality. For her wariness she was given wings so that she may continue to watch over her family in a divine capacity. On June 17th, 2020, Doris Congley did not retire from Matriarch, she was promoted to Guardian Angel. Born in Beverly, on July 1, 1940, Doris was the daughter of the late Paul and Ella (Munson) Boudrot. Doris earned her diploma from Beverly High School before entering the workforce. Doris enjoyed music, and loved to dance. Her passion for dance started as a child when she attended Al Mitchells’ Dance Studio in Beverly. An accomplished dancer, she was honored years later as an alumni when her great-granddaughter danced at the same school. Doris had a heart of gold and an unwavering commitment to her family. Doris met and eventually married Philip S. Congley, they shared 42 years together. She adored being a grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. In addition to her Husband, Philip, she is survived by her daughter, Donna M. Trepanier, her grandchildren, Tasha (and companion Michael), Jeffrey M. Le Blanc, her great grandchildren, Destinee (and husband Juan), Daymond (and his fiancée, Lily), Anastazia and Alannah, her great-great grandchildren, Ivan, Madelyn, Amelia, David and Henry. Doris is also survived by a loving sister, Pauline Bogrett and her children, Paul, Heather, Robin, Joshua, Kyle and Hailey, Nicky and Kurt; Doris’ sister-in-law, Katie Thraen (husband Rob), Katie’s sons Bobby and Philip. Doris was predeceased by her beloved son, Michael Smith and her brother-in-law Frank E. Bogrett, III, and her nephew, Justin. Visitation for Doris will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Optional calling hours for vulnerable populations with underlying health conditions will be held from 4-5PM. Public calling hours will be from 5-7PM. All attendees are required to wear face coverings, practice social distancing, and are respectfully asked for no contact with the family.
