Mary "Eileen" Sirois

December 16, 1935 ~ July 31, 2020
Mary E. Sirois (Eileen), 84, passed away with the same grace and dignity with which she led her life, on Friday, July 31, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her loving husband Dr. Joseph Sirois Jr, with whom they shared 60 years of marriage.
Born in Chelsea Mass, on December 16, 1935, she was the loving daughter of the late John and Mary (Byrnes) Kelleher. Upon graduation from nursing school, she met and married her husband, Joe, while they were both working at Chelsea Memorial Hospital. Together they were blessed with 3 children and spent 8 years at Navy bases in Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. They spent the next 30 years in Lynnfield, before settling in North Reading.
Longtime members of Salem Country Club, Eileen enjoyed golf, tennis, and the social life of bringing up children there. She was very active in her local church and Catholic Charities. She also enjoyed skiing, especially preparing for the legendary après ski parties which took place every Saturday at their ski chalet in North Conway, NH. Upon retirement, they spent 16 winters in Bonita Springs, Florida, where she was ever so happy to entertain her friends and family.
In addition to her predeceased husband, she leaves behind her children Dr. Joseph Sirois III of Walpole, MA, Michael Sirois of Merrimac, MA, Maribeth Sirois of Marshfield, MA, along with their spouses Kristin Sirois, Lucille Sirois, Jay Harvey, her beloved grandchildren Dominique McCurdy (Sirois), Christine Sirois, Julia Patrick (Sirois), Michael Sirois, Colin Sirois, Samantha Sirois, John Sirois, Alexander Kane, Erynn Kane, and great-grandchildren Madeline and Leary. She was also predeceased by her brother, John Kelleher.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all that knew her. She was blessed to have two wonderful, inseparable childhood friends, Ann Leonard and Simonne Duval, with whom she shared over 75 years of loving friendship.
Rest in peace, you will be dearly missed, and always remembered.
Due to current restrictions, the Funeral Mass will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eileen’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
