Edward C. DeMille

Edward C. “John” DeMille, 86, of Danvers, died Sunday, December 27, 2020 at his home with his family at his side. He was the loving husband of Mary Ann (Ferriani) DeMille, with whom he shared fifty-two years of marriage.
Born in Portland, Oregon on Aug. 25, 1934, he was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and then in the U.S. Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1958.
John was employed for many years as a clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Peabody and had previously worked at the Smithsonian in Cambridge.
A Danvers resident for nearly twenty years, he had previously resided in Swampscott. He enjoyed New England sports, especially the Patriots, and was a loving and devoted grandfather and great-grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two children, Gabrielle DeMille LeBlanc and her husband Michael of Newton, NH and Michael DeMille of Manchester, NH, three granddaughters, Alyssa, Adriana, and Ava, and a great-granddaughter, Auroura.
Funeral services for John are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Johnny, this picture of you showing your devilish grin can only reflect how our lifelong friendship will always be remembered. The bets we’ve made even the one you won are now forgiven.
