Charles A. Brigham

Charles A. Brigham, 93, of Beverly, a longtime Wenham resident, died peacefully on March 11, 2021. He was the husband of Judith (Reidy) Brigham.
Born in Beverly on July 24, 1927, he was the son of the late Eugene and Ruth (Hanson) Brigham. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a 1945 graduate of Holten High School. He then served in the U.S. Army in Germany.
Upon his return from the service, he began a long career at New England Telephone.
A member of the First Church of Wenham, Charlie enjoyed gardening and was an active member of the Hamilton Athletic Club, where he had many dear friends.
Charlie was predeceased in 2002 by his beloved first wife, Blanche (Haskell) Brigham.
He leaves four stepchildren, Anna Langstaff, Christopher Hartogh, Katy Van Boven Hartogh, and Mildred Hennings, 5 grandchildren, and a great grandson. He also leaves a brother, Donald Brigham and his wife Janice, many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Wendy Miner, and a dear cousin, Constance Cobb .
His Graveside service will be Weds., March 17, 2021 at 11AM in Wenham Cemetery, Main St., Wenham. Relatives and friends are invited. Attendees are kindly asked to wear face coverings and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlie’s memory may be made to Family Promise, 8 Rantoul St., Beverly, MA 01915. I first met Charlie through his wife Judy in 2004. He had me at “hello.” He was such a nice man. Funny, caring and very sweet. I will miss you Charlie. So glad to have known you. Love from “the Redhead.”
