Lisa M. Bucco

February 26, 1959 ~ March 17, 2021
DANVERS- Lisa M. (Bergeron) Bucco, 62, passed away on March 17, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Robert J. Bucco with whom she shared 40 years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on February 26, 1959, she was the daughter of Donald Bergeron of Danvers and the late Theresa (Savoie) Bergeron. She was a lifelong resident of Danvers and graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School in 1977. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1981 from Salem State College in Education. Prior to starting a family, she had been a teacher at Saint Mary of the Annunciation School in Danvers. Her most recent passion was her position as the Youth Services Librarian at Peabody Institute Library of Danvers for 15 years. Lisa was a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul, who gave friendship and joy selflessly. Her children and family were her greatest gifts and she was most proud of all their accomplishments.
In addition to Robert, she is survived by their children, Amanda Guerino and her husband Steve, Lauren, Nicholas and Jaclyn Bucco. She is also survived by her three brothers and their spouses; Craig and Cathy Bergeron of Ipswich, Gary and Michele Bergeron of Middleton, and Curt and Lindsay Bergeron of W. Newbury. She was the aunt to many adored nieces and nephews and was a “second mother” to Sarah (Dunn) Bergeron and Eric Dunn. Though not related, she shared an unbreakable bond with her “sisters-in-heart” Linda Crawford and Donna Barrett. Her mother-in-law Janice Bucco and her late husband Vito Bucco of Beverly always held a special place in her heart and she cherished her relationship with both.
Her visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Monday, March 22, 2021 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers, MA. Attendees are kindly asked to wear a facial covering and practice social distancing. The funeral services are being held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lisa’s memory to support Pediatric Oncology programs through the Zachary Mauro Crawford Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at http://danafarber.jimmyfund.org/goto/lisabucco or mail checks to Jimmy Fund Walk, Attn: Stephanie Dolliver, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline MA 02445.
I had the great pleasure of working with Lisa for many years at the Peabody Institute Library of Danvers. Although I have been retired for five years, I vividly remember Lisa’s beauty, both outer and inner. Lisa had an inner light that expressed itself in her warm and loving presence. I am very sad knowing what a devastating loss this is for her husband, children, and other family members. I wish that I could extend my heartfelt condolences in person, but I will not receive my first COVID vaccine until next week.

Thinking of the fun, kind outgoing women Lisa was. We worked together at the bank and had a great day every day Lisa was there. Sending love, sympathy and condolences to her family. My heart is just broken for all of you.

Oh my goodness. I loved Lisa. Whenever we chanced to meet, I so enjoyed our encounter. I don’t believe I ever saw Lisa without a smile on her face. She had such a bubbling personality. I am so sorry to hear such sad news. My sympathy goes to her entire family. She was a gem. Myrna Fearer
A couple of years ago while back in Danvers visiting my mother (I live out of state) she suggested I swing by the library and say hi to Lisa, as we were always passing hellos back and forth through my mom. And I’m so glad I did, it was wonderful to see her and catch up! Although Lisa and I had lost touch after high school, I have many many wonderful memories of our friendship from attending St. Mary’s together… her big beautiful blue eyes, playing street hockey at her house with the boys (she was always the #1 pick, and she made them let me play which they did because they needed her on their team!), passing notes during class…and at Fenwick, classes together, going to the girls room together to help her with her new contact lenses, I could go on and on… always seeing her smiling face and always knowing Lisa would take the time to say hello and really mean it. I am glad I am able to call her a friend, even though it’s from a very long time ago. She will always be part of my childhood memories. My condolences to all.

I met Lisa through my sister Sheila. She was a friend of my sister and would come visit our mother while she was fighting her own battle with cancer. When she would leave, my mother would comment how Lisa was such a nice, caring person and how my sister had such a good friend! My condolences, thoughts and prayers to the family during this difficult time.
I am so sorry to hear of Lisa’s passing. Like her mother, Lisa was a kind, compassionate and fun loving woman. The world is a better place because she lived. She will be missed.

We met Lisa in October of 1997, we had just moved to the area and our son had just started at St. Mary’s. Lisa was Jake’s kindergarten teacher and she could not have made us feel more welcome or at ease.
We will never forget those big beautiful eyes and the brilliant smile she wore every day
RIP Lisa, Love, Patrick, Margie & Jake Donovan.
