Carolyn M. Orechia

DANVERS- Carolyn M. (Strojny) Orechia, 85, passed away on September 20, 2021 in Masconomet Nursing Home. She was the wife of Arthur Orechia with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.
Born in the Bronx, New York, on February 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Ferdynan and Marie (Keiley) Strojny. She was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Holten High School in 1953. Carolyn had been employed with the Danvers YMCA for over 30 years. She had been a preschool teacher as well as the aquatic director. Carolyn loved to travel and has visited many places around the world. She was a talented knitter and shared her creations with her family.
In addition to her husband, Arthur, she is survived by her four children, Sharon Wong of Natick, Michael Orechia and his wife Stella of Seattle, WA, Kathy DeLuca and her husband, Dominic “Butch” of Danvers and Janet Ingraham and her husband, Timothy of Danvers, her sisters, Jackie Quinlan of NY, Barbara Collins and her husband, Bernie of Boston and Michelle McGinness and her husband, Kevin of Rowley, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Gregory Strojny and her son-in-law, Thomas Wong.
Her funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Carolyn’s name to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
