Doris A. Bedard

DANVERS- Doris A. (Marchand) Bedard, 98, passed away on March 28, 2022, in Beverly Hospital. She was the wife of the late Henry P. Bedard with whom she had shared 57 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on November 22, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Amedee and Marie (Boudries) Marchand. She was raised and educated in Lowell. Doris had been a longtime resident of Danvers. She was a communicant of Saint Richard Parish and also served as the Our Lady of Sodality treasurer. When her children were little Doris was involved in Cub Scouts as a den mother and in Girl Scouts as a troop leader. She enjoyed visiting with neighbors and friends at the Danvers Senior Center accompanied by her very dear friend Claire Brousseau.
She is survived by six children, Paul Bedard of Beverly, Roger Bedard and his wife Mary Ellen of AZ, Patricia Decker and her husband Wayne of Boxborough, George Bedard of Danvers, Robert Bedard of Danvers and David Bedard and his wife Catherine of Leominster, her siblings Helen Foley of Dracut and Frederick Marchand of Lowell and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings Roland and Gerard Marchand, Pauline Jean and Rita Chouinard.
Her graveside service will be held at 11AM on Friday, April 1, 2022, in Annunciation Cemetery, 155 Hobart St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Doris’ name to Friends of the Danvers Council of Aging at 25 Stone St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
