Maude Elise (Van Bellingham) Perry, 98, passed away Wednesday morning, May 4, 2022. She was the wife of the late John R. Perry, with whom she shared seventy-two years of marriage. Born in Lawrence on September 25, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Maud (Rust) Van Bellingham. She was raised and educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She then earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston University. Maude was a bacteriologist working at the Lahey Clinic when she met her husband, who was studying at MIT. When they began a family, she stayed home to raise her children, and lovingly cared for her daughter, Andrea, for more than fifty years. Peabody residents for over seventy years, she and John were members of Holy Trinity United Methodist Church in Danvers where she was active in women’s circles. She enjoyed tennis and bridge, and was an enthusiastic supporter of Northeast Arc. She is survived by her three daughters, Andrea Perry of Peabody; Judy Perry of Marblehead; and Carolyn Perry and her companions Andy Latto and Elaine Hansen of Foxborough; her brother, Lawrence Van Bellingham of NY; her sisters-in-law, Beverly Currier of NJ; and Isabel Van Bellingham, and her nieces and nephews, Wendy Van Bellingham and Rafe Epstein, Heidi Van Bellingham and Steve Talt, Katrina Van Bellingham and Tony Blecher, Vanessa Van Bellingham and Christopher Nock, and Mark Clemente, all of NY, Marilyn (Currier) and George Rabbai, of NJ, Heidi (Willis) and Randy Currier of NJ, and Charles and Jennifer (Garrett) Currier of CA, and many extended family and friends. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 1PM in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., West Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited. Kindly meet at main entrance at 12:45. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maude’s memory may be made to Northeast ARC, 1 Southside Rd, Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements are by C.R.
