Patricia A. Kennedy

patricia kennedy
Salem—Patricia A. Kennedy, 65 passed away at home July 18, 2022. Born in Danvers March 29, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Beatrice (MacInnis) Kennedy, Sr. She was raised and educated in Danvers, graduating in 1975 from Danvers High. She is survived by two brothers, Donald Kennedy and his wife Jacqueline of Danvers and Kevin Kennedy and his wife Mary Hughes of New York, nieces and nephews, Brendan Kennedy (Traci) of NH, Daniel Kennedy (Katie) of NH and Conor Kennedy (Liz) of CA and great nephews, Jeremy and Elijah Kennedy and many friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Kennedy, Jr. Notably, Pat was an early Mass Lottery winner. She immediately put those new resources to work. First, she earned an associate's degree from North Shore Community. She then went on to Harvard, for a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies. For the better part of four decades, Pat was active with several local Church communities, and with other Community Services and personal support groups, all across the North Shore. Ever the pet lover, she adopted multiple dogs and cats over the years, often from Cape Ann Animal Aid (Donations always welcomed). Among her favorites was “Seamus,” an especially personable Orange Tabby. Pat often maintained, she bestowed his Gaelic name early on, that Seamus could not be mistaken, ever, for a member of some Ulster Irish Orange Lodge, no matter his hue. Ever for something new, Pat was also several years into Classical Guitar instruction at the time of her passing. In this, she sometimes observed, whatever her talent or her gift for it, be it great or small, it was her enthusiasm for, and her outright joy in, the endeavor itself, that always won out. Those of us who knew and loved her for all these wonderful qualities, and more, we will miss her greatly. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Patricia’s name to Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Ln, Gloucester, MA, 01930 or online www.capeannanimalaid.org.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I remember growing up with Patty on Crane Street and thankful to have seen her for dinner a few years back with another Crane Street “kid”. My sincere condolences to family & friends on her passing….gone too soon…

  2. Rip Pat I ll never forget meeting you in Jr and stopping at your house for you to continue our walks to the Holten Richmond

  3. Patty was the most prayerful and devout person I have ever met. She had a deep love for Christ and lived every day in godliness. Life was not always easy for her, but she never failed to thank God for His blessings on her and had unwavering faith that God would always provide. When God took her home to be with Him, there was great rejoicing in heaven. Rest in peace, dear friend.

  4. Patrick you are someone I learned so much from – thank you for you love and concern for other always. will be missed but are written on so many hearts forever.

  5. We were neighbors during Covid and she was my lifeline….If I spotted her outside, I ran out the door to have a chat with her. She was a warm and wise friend who could bring me calm and serenity with a few words and a hug. See you on the other side my friend. RIP
