Esther D. Davis

Esther D. Davis, 85, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025. Born in Southampton, Bermuda, on December 11, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine Madeiros.

Esther was raised and educated in Bermuda before emigrating to the United States in 1964. She made Peabody her home for more than six decades, building a life centered on family, faith, and service. She dedicated 27 years of her career to the former J.B. Thomas Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late George A. Davis, whom she married in Bermuda in 1960. A devoted mother, Esther leaves behind her daughter, Kathy Davis, and her boyfriend, Kevin Legrice, of Peabody, and her son, John Davis of Colorado. She was a cherished grandmother to four grandchildren.

Esther was a longtime and faithful member of the Second Congregational Church in Peabody. In her leisure time, she found joy in word searches and caring for her beloved pets.

She is also survived by her siblings, Ernest, Alfred, and Eileen, along with extended family and friends who will deeply miss her warmth and kindness.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 5:00p.m. to 6:45p.m. in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. A brief celebration of life will follow at 7:00p.m. Burial will be private.
