Alice M. (Miller) FitzGerald, aged 93, passed away at home on March 22, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Robert J. FitzGerald.
She was born in Gloucester on September 7, 1931, to Albert and Gladys (Hall) Miller. Alice graduated from Gloucester High School in 1951 and moved to Danvers with her husband in 1963. Where they raised their family. She worked at local stores, including Almy’s and Sears, and with Travelers Insurance prior to her retirement. Alice enjoyed reading, gardening, and traveling. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities.
She is survived by her five children, Maureen FitzGerald, Donna Marden and her husband Thomas of Danvers, Robert FitzGerald and his husband Eli Acevedo of Lynn, Richard FitzGerald and his wife Mitra of Stoughton, and John FitzGerald and his wife Tina of Danvers, her brother, Harry Miller and his wife Susan of Gloucester, three beloved grandchildren, Daniel Marden and his wife Taylor, Conor FitzGerald, and Alyssa FitzGerald, her great-granddaughter Quinn, and several nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her siblings Walter Miller, Thomas Miller, and Helen Wheeler.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Saint Richard Church in Danvers, with burial in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are 4-7PM on Friday, March 28, 2025, at C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. I’m so very sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. My grandmother aka Babci was very good friends with Mrs Fitzgerald. I remember going over to her house many years ago for a cookout when my brother and I were very young. May she rest in peace.
