Jean A. (Meyers) Chiavacci, age 95, of Danvers, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025, following a period of declining health.
Born in Logansport, Indiana, on September 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Gerry and Marie (Grady) Meyers. Jean was raised and educated in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education at Saint Francis College and taught elementary school until marriage and children at age 33. Jean’s primary vocation, devotion and investment was to her husband Silvio and family. Jean’s greatest legacy is her love, faith, and values that continue to live on in her children and grandchildren.
A proud Danvers resident for over 60 years, Jean was well-known in the community for her warmth, faith, and caring for others. She worked as a medical secretary in a doctor’s office and later as an administrative assistant at Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, where she was a dedicated and longtime parishioner. Jean enjoyed her time as a member of the Danvers Garden Club and also loved spending time with her bridge group.
Jean was the beloved wife of the late Silvio A. “Lee” Chiavacci, and the loving mother of five children: Anne Chiavacci of Danvers; Thomas Chiavacci and his wife Ellen of Henderson, Nevada; Daniel Chiavacci and his wife Jennifer of Savannah, Georgia; John Chiavacci and Yvette Taylor of Beverly; and Michael Chiavacci and his wife Pepper of Dana Point, California. She was the cherished grandmother of ten adoring grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 10:00a.m. in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant Street, Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm Street, Danvers. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s memory may be made to Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church Sanctuary Fund, c/o 90 Forest Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
