Anthony J. Morose

Anthony J. Morose, Jr., 88, of Danvers, passed away on June 21, 2025, following a period of declining health.

Born in Danvers on April 24, 1937, he was the son of the late Anthony and Geraldine (DiFrancesco) Morose. Tony was raised and educated in Danvers, graduating with high honors from St. John’s Preparatory School, Class of 1955. He graduated from Boston College before serving proudly in the Massachusetts National Guard.

In 1960, Tony married the love of his life, Joan (Beaulieu) Morose of Beverly, at the former St. Alphonsus Church. Together they shared many happy years until her passing in 2002.

Tony dedicated much of his professional life to the construction industry and the labor movement. He served as president of Local 14, Laborers International Union of North America. For over two decades, he was an influential advocate for workers’ rights, representing his fellow laborers as a delegate to the North Shore Labor Council, the Massachusetts Laborers District Council, and as a delegate to the International Convention. After retiring from the Laborers Union in 1996, Tony worked as a member of the maintenance department at the Salem Housing Authority, where he was well-loved by residents for his kindness and generosity.

Tony loved family above all, and especially enjoyed hosting weekly cookouts during the summer, bringing everyone together for food, laughter, and cherished memories. Following his retirement, Tony embraced his lifelong passion for travel, visiting numerous countries across five continents. He treasured each journey and was always planning his next adventure.

Tony is survived by his children: Michele Coparanis and her husband David of Newark, VT; Anthony Morose III and his wife Janie of West Hampton; and Gregory Morose and his wife Terry of Haverhill. He was a devoted grandfather to Dylan Morose, Anthony Morose IV, Cameron Morose, and Kyle Morose. He also leaves his siblings: Joan Finnegan, Tina Blanchard, Annie Kiely, James Morose, Patty Carroll, Denise Baines, Joycelyn Minich, and Julie O’Hara. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty Csogi.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm Street, Danvers Square. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, June 27, at 10 a.m., followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
