Resided in: Danvers, Massachusetts

John W. Sudak, 74, of Danvers, passed away on June 21, 2025, at Beverly Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Revere on May 21, 1951, he was the son of the late Philip and Barbara (Fuller) Sudak. John was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School. He then served honorably in the U.S. Navy.

For many years, John made his home in Danvers, where he was known as a kind neighbor and loyal friend. He worked as a custodian at St. John’s Preparatory School, where he took pride in his work and enjoyed the camaraderie of the school community.

John had a passion for gardening and could often be found tending to his beloved plots at Endicott Park, where his green thumb and dedication were well known. A true lover of music, especially The Beatles, John found joy in sharing tunes and stories with friends and family. He was also a devoted movie buff, always ready to revisit a favorite classic.

Above all, John loved his family. He leaves two daughters, Meagan Sudak of Methuen and Rachelanne Sudak-McCullough and her husband Christopher of Eldorado, Illinois; two cherished grandchildren, Gadreel and Ozzy; and his sister, Barbara Pettengill and her husband Donald of Haverhill. He also leaves his nephew Sean Alfonsi and his wife Sarah, his great-niece Riley, his best friend Jim O’Callaghan, and many other dear friends who will miss his kindness and humor.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm Street, Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to Friends of Endicott Park, 57 Forest St., Danvers, MA 01923, honoring his love of gardening and the outdoors. Guestbook

    • Our memories with John go back St Johns Prep. My hubby Joe goes back further. Our visits with Johnat the prep were always special, he was a great cook and he was an amazing gardener. We would see Rachel there sometimes too. We will miss you ❣️ our good friend. Rest peacefully now.

  1. I sincerely regret not being able to attend Johns service. The logistics of travel with my health situation would be overwhelming.
The memories I have of John are too numerous to list but will never fade and they will sustain me until I see him again.

  2. So sorry to hear about your loss. I worked for many years at St. John’s when John was there and always appreciated having him around. Funny, helpful, and down to earth.
