John E. Baker III

John E. “Buddy” Baker III, passed away on July 6, 2025, at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. He was 64 years old.
Born in Massachusetts on February 7, 1961, Buddy was the son of Patricia (O’Leary) Baker of Boxford and the late John E. Baker Jr. He was raised in Boxford and was a graduate of Masconomet High School.
A long-time resident of Danvers who had more recently made his home in Chelsea, Buddy spent many years working in the excavation industry. He took great pride in his work, which was a defining part of his life. Buddy was also a former member of the Danvers Lions Club and cherished the friendships he made through community service.
Buddy had a deep love for animals and a lifelong passion for old cars.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two sons, John E. Baker IV of Chelsea and Michael Baker and his wife Rebecca of Saco, Maine; three grandchildren, John V, Brooke, and Theodore; his companion, Jean MacDonald of Chelsea; his siblings, Steven Baker, Scott Baker, Jeremy Baker, and Jennifer Crampton; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm Street, Danvers Square. Visiting hours will precede the service from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m.
