Josef DeJesus Roman, 18, of Danvers, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at Boston Children’s Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico on June 10, 2007, he was the beloved son of Carwin and Michelle (Roman) DeJesus. Josef was a special young man whose gentle spirit and joyful heart touched everyone who knew him. He found happiness in the simple things—listening to music, watching Disney movies, spending time outside, and especially watching birds. His bright smile brought light to each day and warmth to every person who crossed his path.
Josef loved going to school, where he was surrounded by teachers and friends who cherished him.
In addition to his devoted parents, he leaves his loving brother, Aramys DeJesus of Danvers; his grandmothers, Francisca DeJesus and her husband Ruben Rivera, and Carmen A. Castro-Velez; as well as many relatives and friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11:00a.m. in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Friday from 4:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
