Michael F. Mahoney

July 8, 1948 ~ November 23, 2025

Born in: Salem, Massachusetts
Resided in: Beverly, Massachusetts

Michael F. Mahoney, 77, a longtime Beverly resident, died peacefully on Sunday morning, November 23, 2025, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Salem on July 8, 1948, he was the son of the late Edward and Alice (Kowalski) Mahoney. Mike was raised and educated in Danvers and was a member of the Danvers High School Class of 1966.

Mike spent many years working in financial services, but his life was defined far more by community than career. A past president of the Polish Club in Danvers, he was always the first to volunteer and the last to leave, whether tending bar, helping with events, or pitching in wherever a hand was needed. His commitment to local athletics ran deep—Mike served as a softball commissioner for both the Cape Ann League and the Northeastern Conference, and he enjoyed years on the field as a softball umpire and on the court as a basketball referee.

An avid golfer, a loyal Bruins fan, and a proud (and sometimes playfully controversial) Yankees fan, Mike embraced life with a big heart and a steady presence. He loved camping in his motor home and treasured every mile of the road spent with his family.

Above all, Mike was a man devoted to the people he loved. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Broyer) Mahoney, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage; his two sons, Jason Mahoney of Beverly and Daniel Mahoney of Peabody; and his four cherished grandchildren—Jacob, Benjamin, Patrick, and Thalia—who brought him endless pride and joy. He also leaves his sisters, Susan Romeos and her husband Charles of Danvers, and Katherine Nichols and her husband Jerry of South Carolina, as well as several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

We the family would like to thank the staff and all the nurses at Hathorne Hill nursing home in Danvers for tending to Michael and all his needs. They were absolutely amazing.
