John F. Arkins, 60, of Topsfield, passed away peacefully at his home on December 11, 2025. Born in New York City on May 19, 1965, he was the beloved son of Mary Arkins of Florida and the late James Arkins.
John was raised and educated in New Hyde Park, Long Island, New York, and was a graduate of New Hyde Park High School. He went on to earn his degree from St. John’s University in New York. He had been a resident of Topsfield since 1999.
Professionally, John worked for many years at Bank of America and more recently was employed with General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT). A true technology enthusiast, he had a passion for gadgets and innovation and was especially interested in photography and drone technology.
John had a lifelong love of aviation and greatly enjoyed flying. A licensed pilot, he found both joy and peace in the skies. He was also proud of his Irish heritage, which he carried with quiet pride throughout his life.
An animal lover, John shared a special bond with his dogs—Dakota, and in more recent years, Monty and Chewbacca—who were constant companions and a source of great comfort and happiness.
Above all else, John’s greatest joy and pride were his daughters. He was absolutely devoted to them and cherished every moment they shared. His love for them was unwavering and defined his life.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two daughters, Stephanie Arkins of Brooklyn, New York, and Jackie Arkins of Topsfield; his brother, James Arkins of Florida; and his former wife and dear friend, Michelle Arkins of Topsfield.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Park Street, Topsfield. Burial will be private.
