Phyllis V. (Agganis) Budgell, 89, passed away peacefully Tuesday after a long and courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease. She was the loving wife of the late Rodger C. Budgell.
Born on June 15,1936 on Providence Rhode Island, Phyllis was the cherished daughter of the late Demo and Carmalinda (Cogliano) Agganis. She grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts then moved to Danvers to raise her family.
She immediately became extremely active within her new community using her sense of humor and infectious personality to make volunteering so much fun. She had been the past president of the Danvers American Little League Mother’s Club and of the Danvers Garden Club, where she was especially proud of her work on the library project. She also was in the Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church Couple’s Club.
She loved the town of Danvers but kept roots in her childhood community of Lynn where most of her family lived. She was always excited and looked forward to reuniting with her cousins.
Phyllis built a successful career in real estate working at Spartan and Travelers. But it was watching her family grow that brought her joy.
She is survived by five children Ronald Hennessey and his wife Colette, Michael Hennessey and his wife Jeanne, Diane Langlais, Linda Yost and her husband, Jim, Scott Budgell and his wife Roxanne, her daughter-in-law Laura Budgell, her sister Linda LeNeave and her husband Sam and her sister-in-law Patricia Agganis, fifteen grandchildren Patrick Hennessey, Steven Hennessey, Jaclyn Ford, Nick Hennessey, Megan McDonald, Gary Langlais, Lindsey Crea, DJ Yost, Kristin Fairbanks, Derek Porter, Samantha Howell, William Howell, Lucas Budgell, Jax Budgell, Taylor Budgell, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Stephanie Howell and Jennifer Porter, her son Gregg Budgell, grandson Matthew Budgell, her brothers Demo and George Agganis, her son-in-law Gary Langlais and her former husband Richard Hennessey.
