Resided in: Danvers, Massachusetts

Nancy Marie (Pergola) Turcotte, 75, unexpectedly passed away on January 11, 2026. She was the loving wife of Gene “Mitch” Turcotte.

Born in Stoneham on April 5, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Dorothy (Mason) Pergola. Nancy was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1968. She then received her bachelor’s degree in art history from Colby College. She also studied abroad at the University of Glascow.

Nancy had a kind and selfless spirit and would always lend a helping hand to those in need. She had an extremely generous heart; it was nearly impossible to visit Nancy without hearing “what can I get you?”.

Nancy enjoyed the sun and warmth and loved traveling to Florida with Mitch every winter. She was an avid sports enthusiast. Nancy loved the game of tennis and was a talented player in her younger years. Going to the US Open was one of her favorite memories. She also enjoyed cheering on the New England sports teams, especially the Patriots and the Red Sox. Above all, she cherished her role as Nana, finding her greatest happiness in spending time with family and supporting her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Along with always giving endless hugs, she frequently surprised the kids with little gifts whenever she saw them and enjoyed watching their eyes light up. She frequently brought presents for all the grandchildren, when it was only one of their birthdays. Nancy truly found joy in giving.

In addition to her loving husband, Mitch, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Timothy Holt of Biddeford, Maine; her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Stephanie Flaherty of Newmarket, NH; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Peter Farr of Maryland and Debra and Robert Jones of Wakefield; four stepchildren, Michelle Gilliss and her husband Stephen of Danvers, Daniel Turcotte and his wife Gabriella of Danvers, Desirée Wynott and her husband Brian of Danvers and Jay Downie and his wife Nicole of Jefferson; her grandchildren, Sam, George, Molly, Lucy, Harrison and his wife Katelyn, Tristan, Teagan, Jaiden, Jordan, Ayla, Adelyn, Brooke, Luke, Hannah and Hunter; and her nieces and nephews, Joseph and Philip Pergola, Kimberly and Stephen Farr, Kerry Moorer and Bradford Jones. She was predeceased by her brother Philip Pergola, Jr.

Her Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Monday, January 19, 2026, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy’s name to the Wakefield (Mass.) Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Nancy was a constant pleasant conversation and happy smile when she lived across from us on Lindall Hill. A brilliant mother who raised great kids. Sorry to learn of her loss.

  2. Kristen and Mike, we are so sorry to learn of your mom’s passing. We ran into each other a couple of times of late, and it was always fun to reminisce about the years we spent together at Little League games. It was great to see how happy she was in her marriage and how well you each were doing in your lives and with your growing families. May she rest in peace and may years of good memories help you grieve.
