Christine (McBarron) Tosi passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at the age of 90. Beloved mother of John H. Tosi and his wife, Lori Lekoski, of Burke, VA; Suzanne Jennings and her husband, Dean Jennings, of Beverly; and Carol Roddy and her husband, Mark Roddy, of Weymouth. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Patricia Ann McGrail (first wife of Jack McGrail). She is survived by her son-in-law Jack McGrail and his wife Elaine McArdle McGrail.

Devoted grandmother of Cameron (Kevin LaHaise), Peter (Kristin), and Samantha (Richard Pilgrim) McGrail; Patrick, Caroline (Rene Marin), and Eric Jennings; Matthew and Marissa Tosi. Loving great-grandmother of Audrey and Harrison LaHaise; Madelyn, Luke, and Liam McGrail; and Patrick Pilgrim.
Christine was born in Boston, MA, in 1935, the daughter of the late Anna (Scanlon) and William J. McBarron. She grew up in Dorchester, MA with her parents and five siblings: Janet (McBarron) Frazer, Michael McBarron; and the late Joan (McBarron) Mandill, the late William McBarron, and the late Ann Marie (McBarron) Gelinas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Christine married John G. Tosi in 1956. They moved to Westwood, MA in 1961 where they raised their four children. In the 1970s she worked as a newspaper correspondent for The Patriot Ledger covering the news, town meetings, and happenings around Westwood. In the 1980s, she was a real estate appraiser. She also worked as an executive assistant for several companies in the Boston area, concluding her career at Johnson & Johnson at the age of 70.

Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren gave her so much joy, and she was proud of all their accomplishments. She enjoyed traveling overseas and in the United States and learning about new places. Christine loved the written word. She was always reading, writing, and playing word games. She was also a devoted player of The New York Times Wordle. She wrote a memoir of her family and extended family growing up on Bullard Street, Dorchester, MA during the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. In her retirement she frequented the library both in person and online, was a volunteer at WCC Thrift Shop in Norwood, MA, and took many English and literature courses at UMass Boston.

The family is deeply grateful for the exceptional care she received over the past three and a half years at Hathorne Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Danvers, MA and the compassionate care provided in her final days at Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, MA.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Monday, April 13, 2026 in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. All other services are private.     I was one of her neighbors at Hilltop Gardens. We had many good times, talks and laughs.
