Jennifer Lynn Purdy, known to all who loved her as Jenn, passed away on April 10, 2026, at the age of 50, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born on May 15, 1975, in Danvers, Massachusetts, Jenn also lived in Danvers.

Jenn was, quite simply, the guiding light of her family, and they were her center. She gave her time, energy, and love in abundance, never holding back, never keeping score. Kind, loving, generous, considerate, devoted, and compassionate, she had a way of making the people around her feel like the most important people in the world.

Her passion for cooking started early, following her Dad Frank around the kitchen as a little girl, soaking up everything he had to teach. That spark grew into something truly special. Jenn became a gifted pastry chef, earning a reputation for her stunning creations during her many years at the Hart House in Ipswich. But it wasn’t just her professional work that left an impression. Her family eagerly looked forward to the delicious, personalized cakes she crafted for birthdays, holidays, and every milestone worth celebrating. She carried on the tradition of sharing her love of cooking with the younger generation, passing along the same joy her father had given her.

Jenn spent many years serving meals to Hamilton-Wenham Elementary School students who adored her.

One of the family’s most treasured memories is of the 15 Christmases Jenn and her Aunt Ella Arsenault spent spreading holiday cheer across the North Shore. The two of them would load up a station wagon, cover it in lights and Christmas decorations, and drive through the neighborhoods with carols blaring from the speakers, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone they passed. That was Jenn in a nutshell: someone who went out of her way to bring joy to others.

Jenn is survived by her father, Francis Purdy; her mothers, Donna (Keith) Arsenault and Cynthia Purdy; her sister, Johanna Purdy; her brother, Jonathan Purdy; her nephews, Luc and Wyatt Corwin; close friend Julianne Davis; numerous aunts and uncles, and many extended family members and friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Jenn’s strong and unwavering faith carried her through her diagnosis and treatment with a courage and strength that inspired everyone around her. She fought a valiant fight, sustained by the love of her family.

A graveside service will be held at Hamilton Cemetery, Wednesday, April 15th, at 2 pm, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Jenn’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share a memorial donation in her name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or do something Jenn would have done: share a meal with someone you love, surprise a neighbor with something sweet, or simply take the time to make someone smile.
