Joyce was raised in New Jersey alongside her brothers, Donald and Arnold, forming the foundation of a close-knit family that would remain central to her life.

Joyce attended the Bruce Street School for the Deaf in Newark, New Jersey, where she met her future husband, Frederick Corrado Muscatello, as well as many friends who would remain an important part of her life for years to come. She later continued her education at the Trenton School for the Deaf.
In 1966, Joyce married Frederick Corrado Muscatello, beginning a partnership that would shape the years to come. Together they built a family and a home centered on care, resilience, and quiet strength. Joyce was a devoted homemaker, dedicating herself to raising her children and creating a steady, loving environment.

She is survived by her three children: Frederick Corrado Muscatello Jr., Maria Theresa Rowe, and James Francesco Muscatello; her grandchildren, Sasha Renee Palmer, Paige Nichole Dendall, Christian Rowe, Jae Muscatello, Kang Muscatello, and CB Muscatello; and her great-grandchild, Sabel Palmer.
In 1988, Joyce moved from New Jersey to Florida, where she embraced a new chapter of life. She lived in Palm Coast before relocating to St. Augustine in 2006, and later to Ormond Beach in 2016. Her years in Florida were marked by the rhythms of coastal living and the presence of family nearby.

Joyce had a love for cooking and found joy in preparing meals for those she cared about. She also had a deep affection for animals, reflecting her gentle and nurturing spirit. A devout Christian, her faith was an important part of her life and guided her through the years.

In 2020, Joyce moved to the New England Homes for the Deaf in Danvers, Massachusetts, where she spent her final years in a supportive community.
Joyce will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her quiet strength, and the love she shared so freely. Her legacy lives on in the generations she raised and the family she held together.
