Robert T. Amor Sr., 81, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, following a lengthy illness. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Care One at Essex Park for the compassionate care and support they provided to him and his loved ones.
He was raised in Peabody and was the son of the late Everett Sr. and Marion (Poor) Amor. Robert’s lifelong passion was operating R. T. Amor & Son Excavating, a business he proudly owned and operated for 60 years. He spent his career as a skilled heavy equipment operator, truck driver, and septic system installer.
In his spare time, he enjoyed spending his summers at camp in New Hampshire with his partner, Donna, and boating on the lake.
He is survived by his children, Robert “Butch” Amor Jr., and Cheryl Ann (Amor) Stanford and her husband, Thomas Stanford; his sister, Bertha Haskins of NY; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

To the love of my life
I am so very sorry for your loss. I miss seeing you each day. I lost my husband, Skip the Brush, a couple of years ago and know he was a friend of Bob’s. So awed to see the picture of the truck Skip lettered for him. Thinking and praying for you both.
