Born in: Peabody, Massachusetts
Resided in: Danvers, Massachusetts

Carol-Ann (Spears) Powers passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, surrounded by the family she spent her lifetime nurturing and loving. Born in Peabody, Massachusetts, on October 10, 1934, she was the daughter of William and Dorothy (Higgins) Spears.

Carol married her high school sweetheart, Alfred “Mike” Powers, in 1954, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and community. Their greatest accomplishment was the family they raised together, welcoming seven children and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.

Carol was the quintessential homemaker. She delighted in hosting family gatherings, holiday celebrations, and countless occasions that brought loved ones together. She had an exceptional gift for making everyone feel welcome, well-fed, and heard. She had remarkable wisdom and perspective for the generations of lives she touched and her influence will continue to be felt for years to come.

Deeply devoted to her community, Carol was actively involved in the Danvers sports community and volunteered for many years with the Danvers People to People Food Pantry, always finding ways to help others and make a difference.

Carol will be lovingly remembered by her children, Michael Powers and his wife Maureen, Cheryl Doucette and her husband Michael, Kevin Powers and his wife Robin, and Kathryn Murphy and her husband Patrick. She leaves behind twenty cherished grandchildren and six bonus grandchildren as well as numerous great-grandchildren who will forever hold their beloved “Nannie” in their hearts. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Betty Spears, her brother-in-law Peter D’Amato, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mike; her sons, David, Douglas, and Scott Powers; her brother, William Spears; and her grandson, Ryne.

The family extends sincere gratitude to the staff at Masconomet HealthCare in Topsfield for their attentive care and genuine kindness.
