Sally (Joyce) Milne, 90, died Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House.
Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of Dr. Charles and Leona (Loiselle) Joyce. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School. She would further her education during her career with associate degrees from the Essex Technical Institute and the NH Technical Institute.
After residing in Danvers for forty-seven years, she lived and worked in New Hampshire and Maine until her retirement in 1997, when she relocated to Randolph, VT. She returned to the Danvers area in 2017 to be closer to family.
Sally worked as a secretary at Hamilton-Wenham High School before finding her calling as a substance abuse counselor, serving those struggling with addition at Brookside Hospital in Nashua, NH, the Aroostook Mental Health Center in Fort Kent, ME, Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, ME, and the Regional Medical Center in Lubec, ME.
She leaves three sons, Dana Milne and his wife Liz of Peabody, Thomas Milne of Utah, and James Milne and his wife Susan of Danvers, four grandchildren, two-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Pauline Kowalski, Margaret Moreau, and Robert, Elaine and Patrice Joyce.
Visiting hours are Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00pm in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. A funeral service will follow immediately at 6:00pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sally’s memory may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
