December 8, 1952 ~ August 24, 2026

Born in: Biddeford, Maine
Resided in: Danvers, Massachusetts

James C. Houreas, 73, of Danvers, was called to Heaven on Monday, August 24, 2026, from the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, comforted by the presence of his devoted wife Sandra (Orth) Houreas with whom he shared thirteen beautiful years of marriage

Born in Biddeford, Maine on December 8, 1952, he was the son of the late Charles and Florence “Steffie” (Stefanopoulos) Houreas. He was raised and educated in Rochester, New Hampshire and was a graduate of Spaulding High School. Following his education, Jim served honorably in the United States Navy. Later in life, Jim went on to receive an Associates in Graphic Design from Northern Essex Community College.

Jim was employed for many years at Wang Laboratories in Tewksbury and later worked at Arwood Machine Corporation in Newburyport.

Jim spent many years in Lawrence before moving to Danvers, where he firmly rooted himself in the community and became an active member of the First Church Congregational in Boxford. His favorite moments were spent with his beloved wife, Sandy, taking spontaneous, carefree drives down to the beach. Music brought constant joy to Jim’s life; he was always tapping his feet, humming a tune, or taking the stage for a lively karaoke performance. Throughout his life, he loved the thrills of amusement parks and cherished making lasting memories there with his close family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Sandra, he leaves two sons, Dion Houreas and his wife, Rita, of York, Pennsylvania; and Christopher Houreas and his wife, Danielle, of Chelmsford, and six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jasmyn, Jaden, Zoey, Aiden, and Joshua; his sister, Nancy Trudeau of Rochester, NH; and his former wife, Sandra Calado of Methuen.

His Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 10:00AM in C.R.
