Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I share many memories of Uncle Alden from staying at your house, to family & holiday gatherings at Dee Dee’s house. He was a great artist & model ship builder. Memories of he & my dad with their train sets set up in the basement. He will be greatly missed.

  2. My personal highlight every Sunday morning after Maple Street Church services was when Alden would reach out to shake my hand and say, “ Good Morning, Vicar!” I will treasure my loving memory of Alden for the rest of my days.

  3. I am so very sorry to read this. My mother, Connie Duncan Francis, always spoke so highly of Mr. Goodnow. She reminded me all the time that he was a member of her class- Holten High 42, which she said was one of the very best. When Mom had to sell her Dad’s house after he passed away, the only real estate company she would consider was Goodnow Real Estate, because of her friendship with and admiration of Mr. Goodnow. Prayers to all of you,

    Love, Sue (Francis) Melvin

  4. Alden was a wonderful man who I had the pleasure of working with for many years. I learned a lot from him. He ran a very successful real estate and insurance company and was well respected. I am sorry for his wife Lois and his children Nancy and Amy. May he Rest In Peace.

  5. We shared our mutual love of barbershop music with your formation of the Steeplejacks.
The late Earl O’Brient tenor, Don Thomas lead, you as baritone, and me as bass. Many wonderful rehearsals at your home with refreshments that “seemed” to enhance the quality of the songs we sang. Our “gigs” were such that many to this day will never forget. LUIGI – from the Christopher Columbus piece – was indeed a classic.
May we all sing together again in the future my dear friend. RIP
    Ben McGregor

Amy please my lovely sister take heart, daddy is now a better place singing with his creator.
