MELBOURNE, FL- formerly of Danvers, Alfred J. Plante, 87, passed away on December 17, 2019 in Florida. He was the loving husband of Edna (Talbot) Plante with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Danvers on December 30, 1931, he was the son of the late Alfred and Malvine (Blanchette) Plante. He was raised and educated in Danvers. Alfred had been a resident of Danvers for 64 years. Upon retirement he and his wife moved to North Carolina and then settled in Florida. Alfred had been employed with Eastern Propane for 35 year as a plant manager. He also enjoyed filming many weddings as a videographer. Alfred was an avid golfer, and enjoyed playing the guitar, pool and darts. In addition to his wife, Edna, he is survived by four children and their spouses, Kathy and Peter Fournier of FL, David and Terri Plante of Peabody, Paula and Tom Perry of Danvers and Tommy and Juliette Plante of CO, seven grandchildren, Shannon, Michelle, Trevor, Amanda, Stephen, Kevin and Brandon, three great grandchildren, Thomas, Charlotte and Anthony and his sister, Joan Valincourt of Beverly. He was predeceased by his siblings, Lorayne Ramsdal of Gloucester and Leo and Arthur Plante. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Monday, December 30, 2019 in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 4-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Assoc., 309 Waverly Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA, 02452.
