TOPSFIELD- Alice E. Dinneen of Topsfield, formerly of Brockton, daughter of the late Edward A. and Alice (Groark) Dinneen of Brockton, sister of Carole (Dinneen) LaFrance of Topsfield and the late Donald E. Dinneen and sister-in-law of Carole (Jerome) Dinneen of South Easton. She is also survived by her nephews, Michael Dinneen, Joseph, Daniel and Kenneth LaFrance and her nieces, Deborah LaFrance, Clare Lacroix and Maura Levesque and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Ms. Dinneen graduated from the College of New Rochelle and worked for the Boston Redevelopment Authority for 29 years, where she was the director of purchasing and manage of the staff services. She retired from the Authority in February of 1990. Her Funeral mass will be held at 11AM on Thursday, December 29, 2016 in Saint Rose of Lima Church, 12 Park St., Topsfield. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Vincent DePaul Society at Saint Rose of Lima Church, 17 Prospect St., Topsfield, MA, 01983 (rectory address) or Muscular Dystrophy Assoc., 33 Lyman St. Suite 205, Westborough, MA, 01581.

  1. A couple of times I had lunch with Babe and Carole. Babe was always ready for a joke and she could make fun out of anything. My friend Lee would be with us and would go outside to have a cigarette. Babe would pop up and say , “I’ll come with you so you’ll have some company.” She would smoke with Lee and thought she was hiding it from her but we knew. I’m so glad I got to know Babe and have some fun with her. She will be missed.
