With heavy hearts, Ann Marie (Roy) Richard, 80, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025 at Masconomet Healthcare after a long journey with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in Salem on July 19, 1944 she was the daughter of the late William and Alma Arsenault Roy. Anne was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Saint Chretienne high school and had a long career in the hospitality industry at North Shore Medical Center.

Ann’s heart and soul was her family. She loved being with family, watching her grandchildren and was a proud grandmother. She also enjoyed daily outings, whether it was out shopping or having lunch/dinner with her dearest friends. Known for her loving smile and her love for the Red Sox, Ann will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Ann’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy and spirit she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.

She is survived by five children, Michelle Hernandez and her husband, John of Boxford, William Richard and his wife Denise of Dorchester, Cheryl Richard of Danvers, Renee’ Polonsky and her husband Josh of Lynn and Brad Richard and his wife Alice of Methuen. Her 10 grandchildren, Jacqueline, Victoria, Henry, Martin, Jane, Myles, Ava, Benjamin, Charlotte and Thomas.

A private funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 24th. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy or donations may be made in Ann’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
